Storage Container

From $300/Month

A 10ft sea can with a door and a window — the one crews use as a site shack. Tools lock up at night, and the window means you can work inside without the door open. About 7' x 10' / 2.13 m x 3.05 m, corrugated steel, double doors. Alberta calls these sea cans or C-Cans. We deliver across Alberta, within about 150 km of Calgary and Edmonton.

Which Size Do You Need?

All of them are steel, lockable, and weatherproof. The only real question is how much floor you need — and how much room the truck has to get in.

20ft Sea Can

Most sites take this one — $150/month

  • ✓8' x 20' / 2.44 m x 6.10 m
  • ✓About 1,360 cu ft / 38.5 m³
  • ✓A full crew's tools with room to walk

40ft Sea Can

For full site storage — $250/month

  • ✓8' x 40' / 2.44 m x 12.19 m
  • ✓About 2,720 cu ft / 77 m³
  • ✓Tool crib and material store in one drop
  • ✗Needs a longer, straighter approach

There is also a 10ft sea can with a door and a window — crews use that one as a site shack.

Not sure? Text us what you are storing and where it goes — we will tell you which one fits and whether the truck can reach it.

What Calgary Sites Use a Sea Can For

Most of ours go out as tool cribs. Steel walls, a lockbox, and it stays where you put it until you tell us to come get it.

Tool Crib on the Job Site

The crew leaves their gear on site instead of hauling it home every night. Lock it at end of day, start the morning already holding tools.

Material and Equipment Storage

Fittings, fasteners, and small equipment stay dry and out of the wind — no tarps over a pallet in a February chinook.

Renovation Overflow

A shop or house being redone has to put its contents somewhere. The container sits in the lot until the floor is back in.

Site Shack

The 10ft with a door and window gives you a small enclosed space for paperwork, and locks the good tools separately.

Inventory and Seasonal Stock

Retail and trades park the stock that only moves twice a year in a container instead of leasing more building.

Staging Between Phases

Equipment finished on one phase and needed on the next has somewhere secure to wait.

Need somewhere heated and furnished to actually work in, not just store in? That is an office trailer, not a sea can. Plenty of Calgary sites rent one of each.

Important: Before It Arrives

Four things that decide whether the drop goes smoothly.

Level the Drop Area First

A container on uneven ground twists slightly and the doors stop lining up. Level it before we arrive and the doors keep swinging true.

Leave Room for the Truck

The drop area has to be accessible — a clear approach in and out, and nothing overhead like power lines or low branches. Send us a photo if you are unsure.

Steel Sweats in a Chinook

Big temperature swings cause condensation inside. Put desiccant absorbers in with documents, electronics, or fabric.

No Heat, No Power

A sea can arrives as a bare steel box. Nothing inside is insulated or wired — tell us in advance if that changes what you need.

How Sea Can Rental Works

1

1. Tell Us the Size and the Address

Text us or book online with the size, the site address, and your dates. We send a simple contract the same day — no hidden fees.

2

2. Get the Drop Area Ready

Delivery needs flat, accessible ground — compacted gravel, asphalt, or firm dirt all work. Level it before delivery so the doors keep lining up.

3

3. We Deliver Across Calgary

We coordinate delivery with our Alberta transport partners, roughly 150 km out from Calgary. Month to month after that — tell us when you want it picked up.

Container Delivery Logistics

We coordinate with trusted transport partners in Alberta to ensure your container arrives exactly where you need it.
To guarantee a smooth drop-off, please review our site delivery requirements.

1. Space & Clearance

We require approximately 70 feet of straight clearance for our tilt-deck trucks to safely unload a standard 20ft container.

2. Ground Prep

The drop site must be level, hard-packed ground (gravel, pavement, or firm dirt) to prevent the unit from sinking or racking.

3. Truck Access

Ensure the access route is wide enough (minimum 10ft) and free of low-hanging wires or branches (minimum 14ft height).

Sea Can Rental Calgary FAQ

Yes. Sea can, C-Can, shipping container, storage container — all the same steel box. Alberta mostly says sea can. We rent them in 10ft, 20ft, and 40ft.
The 10ft is $100 a month, the 20ft is $150, and the 40ft is $250. The 10ft with a door and window is $300. Containers rent by the month, and longer rentals get better rates — call us with your timeline.
We rent four: a 10ft with a door and window, a 10ft, a 20ft, and a 40ft. All steel, all lockable, all weatherproof. The 20ft (8' x 20' / 2.44 m x 6.10 m) is the one most job sites end up taking.
On-site tool storage. A locked container means the crew's gear stays on the job instead of going home in a truck every night. After that: material and inventory storage, overflow while a shop or house is being renovated, and secure staging for equipment between phases.
The 20ft. It holds about 1,360 cubic feet / 38.5 m³ — a full crew's tools with room to walk between them — and it fits drop areas a 40ft cannot reach. The 40ft doubles the space but needs a longer, straighter approach for the truck.
We deliver across Alberta, within approximately 150 km of Calgary and Edmonton. Send us the site address and we will confirm before you book.
Our containers are corrugated steel with heavy-duty lockboxes. They resist forced entry, weather, and pests. For high-value contents, we recommend adding a disc lock — ask us about options when booking.
Level and solid. Compacted gravel, asphalt, or firm dirt all work — you do not need a concrete pad. Level the drop area before delivery, because a container sitting on uneven ground twists slightly and the doors stop lining up.
A 20ft container gives you about 1,360 cubic feet / 38.5 m³ — enough for a full crew's tools, or a typical residential move. A 40ft doubles that to about 2,720 cubic feet / 77 m³. Both are 8' / 2.44 m wide and 8'6" / 2.59 m tall. The 40ft needs a longer drop area and a straighter approach for the truck.
There is no maximum rental duration. Containers are available on flexible month-to-month terms. Many clients keep them on site for multi-year projects. Longer rentals qualify for discounted monthly rates.
Freestanding shelving units can typically be placed inside without modifications. For permanent fixtures like welded shelving or electrical wiring, check with us about approved modifications before proceeding.
No. A sea can is a bare steel box — no insulation, no heat, no lighting. If your crew needs a heated space to work in rather than a locked space to store in, an office trailer is the right unit. Plenty of sites rent one of each.
Standard shipping containers have small vent openings for passive air circulation. Steel sweats when the temperature swings, so for moisture-sensitive items — documents, electronics, fabrics — we recommend placing desiccant moisture absorbers inside.
Storing flammable liquids or hazardous materials may require specialized ventilation and compliance with Alberta fire codes. Contact us to discuss your specific storage needs and any applicable restrictions.
Yes. Containers are commonly used as secure workshops, tool cribs, and staging areas on construction sites, and the 10ft with a window works as a site shack. Note that containers are not insulated, heated, or climate-controlled — if you need a heated, furnished space to work in, an office trailer is the better fit.
No penalties for early removal. Give us reasonable notice to schedule pickup and we'll arrange removal at a convenient time. Any prepaid rental balance for unused months will be refunded.
